H.E. Ambassador Professor Dr. Klaus Schweinsberg was born in Lindau (Germany). He is a citizen of Germany and Switzerland. After military education he began his studies at the Université de Fribourg and the Universities of Siena and St. Andrews. After a doctoral thesis he started working for Bertelsmann in 1999. He became Editor in Chief and Publisher of the leading business magazines Capital and Impulse. In 2009 he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Centre for Strategy and Higher Leadership. He is Affiliate Professor at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP). For over 30 years he has served in the Germany Army as a Reserve Officer, now in the Rank of a Colonel (General Staff).

Since 2008 he is a member of the Order of Malta. He served in numerous responsible functions such as the Lebanon Foundation, the Communication Board of the Sovereign Council and Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia. Since 2011 he has been Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Principality of Liechtenstein.
